In operation, slurry is introduced into the thickening tank where solids settle under gravity while clarified liquid overflows for reuse or discharge. The NG Series uses a peripheral traction design with running rollers, a configuration typically adopted for large-scale thickeners. This structure distributes load evenly and allows the system to tolerate roller slippage under overload conditions without requiring special safety devices. The thickening tank is generally constructed from reinforced concrete for long-term structural stability.
Electrical power is supplied through annular nodes arranged on the central support. Current collection joints with sliding rings connect to the arm brace, allowing power to be safely delivered to the drive motor through cables routed along the arm structure.
