The NZ Center Drive Thickener is used for small-scale thickening operations where controlled sedimentation and stable underflow discharge are required. With tank diameters under 20 meters, it is commonly applied in mineral processing plants handling concentrate and tailings slurry, as well as in chemical and industrial separation processes.

During operation, slurry enters the thickening tank and solids settle under gravity while clarified liquid overflows for reuse or discharge. The centrally driven rake slowly rotates to move settled material toward the discharge cone, maintaining consistent underflow concentration and preventing material buildup along the tank bottom.

For thickeners with diameters below 12 meters, manual rake lifting is used, while units above 12 meters are equipped with electric rake lifting devices. An optional anti-corrosive configuration is available for handling corrosive slurry, extending service life in demanding operating environments.

The center drive structure combines a thickener tank, rake assembly, drive system, lifting mechanism, feeder, discharge cone, and overload indication or alarm system. This arrangement supports dependable operation with minimal wear and reduced maintenance requirements.

This thickener is well suited for facilities that need reliable thickening performance, straightforward operation, and compact installation without the complexity of large peripheral drive systems.

The technical data below outlines tank dimensions, sedimentation area, frame rotation speed, production capacity, motor configuration, overall dimensions, and equipment weight to assist with system sizing and integration.

If you are planning a small-scale thickening circuit or evaluating corrosion-resistant options, our team can help determine the most appropriate NZ Center Drive Thickener configuration for your application.
